putting two popular drugstore shampoos to the test: L’Oréal Paris Total Repair
5 and Tresemmé Keratin Smooth, both claiming to tame frizz and repair damage
with the help of keratin. Let’s see which one comes out on top.
- Claims: This shampoo targets 5 common hair problems: damage, dryness, roughness, dullness, and split ends. It boasts a Pro-Keratin + Ceramide formula to strengthen and repair.
- Packaging: The L’Oréal Total Repair 5 comes in a sturdy, easily squeezable 1-liter bottle, which is great value for the price.
- Texture and Scent: The shampoo has a creamy texture and a pleasant, slightly floral scent. It lathers well and rinses clean without leaving a heavy residue.
- Performance: I’ve been using this shampoo for a few weeks now, and I’ve noticed a slight improvement in the overall smoothness of my hair. It does seem to best shampoo for dry hair, and my hair feels softer after each wash. However, I haven’t seen a dramatic reduction in frizz, especially in humid weather. It does a decent job of managing it, but it’s not completely eliminated.
